This document will explain the layout of this CD. This CD provides a menu that allows you to create driver and firmware disks, view User Guide, Install 3DM2, and run the CLI. To use the CD: 1. Insert into a Windows or Linux system (Linux systems require a graphical user interface) and the autorun feature will display the AMCC 3ware Menu when the AMCC license is accepted. 2. Create Windows Driver Disks ****************************** 1) Insert the CD into your Windows or Linux system, when the main menu is displayed click the Driver & Firmware Disks button. 2) Insert a blank floppy disk to create the driver floppy with. 3) When the Disk Images menu is displayed click the button for the desired Windows Driver. 4) When the driver floppy is finished you will be notified, if it should fail to be created you will also be notified. 3. Install Windows Drivers ************************** 1) Insert the CD into your Windows system. 2) Go to the properties page of the 3ware controller in the Device Manager. 3) Select the Driver tab on the top of the properties page. 4) Select the Update Driver button. 5) Click next on the page displayed then select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" option and select next. 6) Select "Have Disk" option then browse and navigate to the CDROM drive and to the packages\drivers\windows directory and select the 3wManage.inf file. Then select open and OK, then select next and OK any messages that might be displayed. 4. Create Linux Driver Disks **************************** 1) Insert the CD into your Windows or Linux system, when the main menu is displayed click the Driver & Firmware Disks button. 2) Insert a blank floppy disk to create the driver floppy with. 3) When the Disk Images menu is displayed click the button for the desired Linux Driver. 4) When the driver floppy is finished you will be notified, if it should fail to be created you will also be notified. 5. Install Linux or FreeBSD drivers *********************************** 1) Insert the CD into your system. 2) Change directories to the CDROM drive then packages/drivers/Linux or packages/drivers/Freebsd. 3) Copy the desired drivers from the CD to the appropriate location on your system and perform any upgrade procedures as outlined in the User Guide. 6. Install 3DM2 Management Tool ******************************* 1) Click the Install 3DM2 button on main menu and follow installer prompts. 7. View User Guide and Other Documents ************************************** 1) Click the User Guide button on main menu or changed directories to the CDROM drive, then to the doc directory then the desired document such as the CLI or Installation Guides. 2) You must have a pdf viewer installed to view the provided guides. For Windows the Acrobat Reader is provided in the 3rdPartySW/Adobe directory on the CD. To install run AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe. For other operating systems or to get the latest version of Acrobat Reader go to http://www.adobe.com. 8. Run or Install CLI (Command Line Interface) ********************************************** 1) Click the Run CLI button on main menu. ** Note: You can install the CLI to your system by simply copying the binary to a desired location on your system. 9. Create Firmware Upgrade Disks. ********************************* 1) Insert the CD into your Windows or Linux system, when the main menu is displayed click the Driver & Firmware Disks button. 2) Insert a blank floppy disk to create the firmware upgrade floppy with. 3) When the Driver & Firmware Disk Images menu is displayed click the button for the desired controller firmware. 4) When the upgrade floppy is finished you will be notified, if it should fail to be created you will also be notified.
